We’ve Been HerE
In the summer of 2021, White Owl Native Ancestry Association worked with students to create beautiful reflective art. Over the course of two weeks in August, eight youth participated in an intensive photography, spoken word, and social justice mentorship program. Youth were guided through a series of prompts that explored reconciliation, healing, identity exploration, intersectionality, dreams of the future and connections to the Land. The result: a month-long exhibition entitled We’ve Been Here. The exhibition will feature 16 portraits and 8 poems created by each youth.
